On the 3rd of August 2006 I was most probably in a grimy popular public house chain that shall remain nameless, (lets just call it weatherforks). Unfortunately there was somewhere I very much wasn’t. On this quiet Thursday a young 17 year old boy named lee was given a little bit too much trust by his rentals. As they left him alone for a considerable amount of time to survive on his own whilst house sitting, they gave a very, very specific rule. “Do not have another HOUSE PARTY”- lee being a beautifully foolish young teen decided to respect his parents wishes but noticed a flaw in the rule in that his parents said nothing of hosting his very own festival. So he set up his bar, his stage and his line up invited his friends and leefest was born. 4 leefesties, 4 years, 2 relocations, 14 portaloo’s, interest from ITV, Radio 1, BBC 6music, London Metro, a man made beach, 2 mainstream headliners, and a vision of one lad and his friends later and we have Leefest 2010. THE FUTUREHEADS DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? / THE KING BLUES FENECH-SOLER / HOT CLUB DE PARIS / JOHNNY FOREIGNER KING CHARLES / MEAN POPPA LEAN STARSMITH / JAKWOB / THE LOOSE CANNONS All for just £25 pre event! In Blasst’s humble opinion petite festival’s lineups do not get much better than this. So as an ode to the Grassroots festival award they won last year, Lee and the team have really raised the bar and turned a bash in his garden into one of the most exciting festivals of the summer, in 5 years. Blasst Is looking forward to bringing you the best bits on the day so get your sun cream, wellies and cider stashes together and get down to Highams Hill farm in Surrey. www.leefest.org.uk The Blasst team! |
